The January transfer window will open at the end of the month, and ahead of the start of business teams are beginning to wrap up targets and agree deals that will be made official when the period makes it legal.
One team that is a player short in the striker’s department is Eintracht Frankfurt with the club not able to replace Randal Kolo Muani who made a late move to PSG on the final day of the summer transfer window.
They deferred the decision to replace him till January and have now decided to settle for 20 year old Nigerian striker Rafiu Duronsinmi, who plays for Czech Republic side Viktoria Plzen.
He has scored nine goals with six assists in 19 games before picking up a knee injury that cut short his rapid rise to the top that earned him the nickname the new Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian who powered Napoli to their first league title in 33 years.
It is believed the knee injury isn’t as bad as initially feared and instead of missing out on the entire season, he is expected back in training in four to six weeks time.
Duronsinmi was on the radar of the English Premier League duo of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion but his camp have settled for the German side as the next step in his career.
A fee in the region of €6-8m is reported to have been agreed by the parties involved and he is scheduled for a routine medical in three weekstime before the deal will be made official by both teams.
