A 200-level student of the Department of Chemistry at the Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University, ATBU, Moses Isah, has been reported missing.
His disappearance was announced on the ATBU students Facebook group, ‘Voice of Balewites’, by his elder brother, Samson Isah.
The Facebook post urged anyone with information to call specific numbers.
The post reads: “I am Moses Isah’s elder brother. Pls anybody with any information of his whereabouts should pls call 07083340906 or 07039785845. He has been missing for the past 15 months. He is a student of ATBU.”
Speaking with thedabigal, Isah said his brother had been missing for 15 months, adding that all efforts to locate him proved abortive.
According to him, he had filed a report at a Police Station but due to financial constraints, could not “follow up after the police started requesting for money”.
Moses was last seen at his lodge in Yelwa Tuldu.
When asked if the school management was aware of his brother’s disappearance, Isah said he approached a particular lecturer (name withheld) for assistance.
When contacted, the spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, did not respond to messages and calls.
Similarly, ATBU’s Director of Information, Zailani Bappa, did not respond to messages sent to him on the matter, as of the time of filing this report.
