
The Nigeria U20 team yesterday rounded up preparation for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations which will begin in Egypt this weekend with a comprehensive 6-1 thrashing of the U23 team of Moroccan side Kawkab Athletics.
The game which was played at their training camp in Morocco was hastily arranged after the decision of the U20 team of Central Africa Republic pulled out of an arranged friendly game, which was to be the last for the Nigerian team.
Kawkab Athletics U23 team felt the weight of the Nigerian team as early as the first minute of the game with Aminu Mohammed putting the Ladan Bosso led team ahead. It became two in 17 minutes when Ibrahim Muhammed finished off a move.
Ten minutes later , Samson Lawal added a third before Kawkab reduced the deficit to 1-3. The three goals cushion was immediately restored with super substitute Emmanuel Uchegbu who has scored in their last four games making it 4-1.
Austin Njoku who wore the captain armband made it 5-1 before the half time break and Immediately after the break substitute Nicholas Jonathan made it 6-1. It ended that way and rounded up what has been a perfect run of test games for the Nigerian team.
They played 19 test games, scored 86 goals and also conceded ten in return. The games include two international games against Zambia and Congo respectively and also two games against Nigeria Professional Football League sides Nasarawa United and Lobi Stars.
