The agent of highly rated Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode has provided a clear picture on where his international future lies with the 19 year old wanted by both Nigeria and Italy, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Kayode stole the show over the weekend with a man of the match performance for Fiorentina in their 2-1 win over Lazio by scoring the leveler and winning the penalty that led to the winner for his team, who are now 6th on the Serie A log.
“We spoke after the game. I am happy for Mike because he deserves it,” Andrea Ritorni, who is part of the defender’s entourage, told RadioFirenzeViola.
“He had a bad injury that forced him out of action for a while and it wasn’t easy to be involved in the group again. Now I can say he is 100% fit. He feels well physically and mentally.”
Explaining the international future of the teen star who is reportedly on the radar of top teams in Europe, the representative reveals it firmly lies with Italy where he has been a youth international and he was even watched by Marco Domenichini, the assistant to the coach of the Italian national team Luciano Spalletti.
“I am happy Kayo performed well in front of Spalletti’s assistant. He has gained personality, he almost looks like a veteran,” said his agent.
“A call from the national team would be the missing piece. Michael dreams of his call every day.”
