The hashtag #whyididntreport is trending on micro-blogging website, Twitter and ladies are telling their sad rape experiences and it is quite disheartening.

One of such ladies who have come out to share their experience is 2019 Big Brother Naija Star, Khafi Kareem.
Khafi revealed that she did not report her rapist because he apologized immediately and she made herself believe that him being drunk was an excuse.This will be the best song you’d listen to today: Kayode – Sideguy – Click Here
Her tweet reads ;
because he apologised right after. Because I made myself believe him being drunk was an excuse. Because the one person I did tell said I caused it. Because I felt dirty and ashamed.

#whyididntreport I did report it every single time (multiple different white men over the span of 2 years) and I was told “He just has a thing for black girls”

Because I was only 14 years old & was too afraid I’d get laughed at. You are not alone. If you do not feel comfortable speaking up about your own story, your experience & pain is still valid! ????❤️ #whyididntreport

#whyididntreport I hate being sympathized for and I had enough going on in my life and I didn’t want to relive that moment over and over again, trying to get justice.

#whyididntreport I was a kid, it was a family friend, and when I told, I wasn’t believed.

#whyididntreport I was afraid that my family wouldn’t believe me. I was afraid he would hurt me more. I was afraid people would see me differently. Till this day, it still hurts me.

#whyididntreport i was young and naive and in love with him and excused his actions with his alcoholism. he didn’t remember it the next day. so i never brought it up.

#whyididntreport because I still blame myself. Most of the time I just try pretend that it never happened.
