A 60-year-old man has been arrested by the Niger State police for allegedly raping an 8-year-old girl selling fish.
According to findings, the incident happened around 1:30pm on Saturday, July 11, 2020, while the girl was put hawking.
60-year-old Haruna Lawal allegedly lured her into an uncompleted building with N100 and had carnal knowledge of her.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
The state police command spokesman, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident.
He said:
”The suspect has been interrogated and had confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.”
