In response, the police has proposed various reforms which includes the dissolution of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS or FSARS).

In a video sighted by LailasNews, some protesters could be seen handing out gifts to police officers who were on duty across Rivers state.

According to those who took the initiative, they said giving the officers the water gift was a sign of peace, and affirmation that they are not at war with the force.

While speaking with newsmen earlier today, Muhammad Adamu said checking phones is not part of the job of any police officer and there will be a total stop to it henceforth.
