Two ex-internationals, Tarila Okorowanta and Duke Udi have urged national coach, Gernot Rohr not to extend an invitation to the clubless Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa ahead of AFCON qualifiers.

Both players said Musa does not merit a national call-up now since he has not been playing active football.

Speaking on Sports Radion 88.9 fm, Okorowanta said only the best would be good enough to represent Nigeria in such a crucial assignment.

Musa recently missed the opportunity to return to the Premier League when he arrived at West Brom after the closing of the winter transfer market.

West Brom manager, Sam Allardyce had used the available resources to buy just three players who were able to meet the shopping deadline.

However, Udi stated that players should be invited on their current form and readiness for the match.

On the other hand, Okorowanta urged the German tactician not to invite Musa for the 2021 AFCON because he’s clubless.
