Genoa have signed Stefano Sabelli as a free agent after his Empoli contract expired, while the Tuscans set up the Petar Stojanovic medical following a deal with Dinamo Zagreb.

It is a merry-go-round of right-backs between the Serie A sides on the transfer market.

Sabelli helped Empoli to earn their promotion to the top flight, winning the Serie B title after his arrival in January 2021 from Brescia.

He provided three assists in 12 appearances for the Tuscan club, but his contract was allowed to expire and he began training with Genoa this afternoon.

At the same time, Empoli found his replacement by reaching an agreement with Dinamo Zagreb for just over €1m.

The Slovenia international right-back is expected to have his medical for the Stadio Castellani club next week.
