Talks about Napoli having a better structure without top striker Victor Osimhen in the wake of their 4-0 win over Lazio has been branded as hogwash by highly respected Italian journalist Antonio Corbo.
Napoli will be without Osimhen for three months and in their first league match without the Nigerian, the league leaders comprehensively thrashed Lazio 4-0 to extend their league over second place AC Milan to three points.
The win led to talks of the team playing a lot better without the Nigerian who is their club record signing and Corbo was asked during an interview on Radio Marte in the show tagged Marte Sport Live if he shares same sentiments.
“Those who support this thesis confirm how adorable the game of football is because it makes even those who do not know about it talk”, he blast. “ Napoli won with Lazio because the event for Maradona gave competitive fury and great emotional charge. They found themselves on the edge of a ravine after holding the lead in the league standings and feared that the great dream might be over, at a certain point this caused a reaction.
