Long queues of cars, motorcycles and tricycles have resurfaced again in most parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
A thedabigal correspondent who went around major areas of Ibadan on Monday and Tuesday observed that the long queues have resurfaced in most of the petroleum stations in the ancient city.
Some of the areas visited by our correspondent include Sango, Mokola, Agodi Gate, Secretariat Road, Ring Road and Total garden.
Others are Dugbe, Iyaganku, Apete, Awotan, Bodija, Ijokodo, Eleyele and Adamasingba.
thedabigal had a few weeks ago reported that long queues resurfaced in Ibadan due to an alarm raised by the Federal Government that adulterated petroleum products have been imported into the country.
The closure resulted in long queues in most of the petroleum stations that opened for customers two weeks ago.
Our correspondent however reports that long queues have again resurfaced in Ibadan.
An investigation by a thedabigal correspondent revealed that most of the stations that belonged to independent marketers had closed their stations.
Only a few of them that opened have increased their prices, especially those in the rural areas of Ibadan. However, thedabigal learnt that major marketers, whose stations are open, still sell at their old prices.
Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Oyo State branch, Mr. Bukola Mutiu, when contacted declined to comment on the matter.
