The decision of Spanish second division side Huesca to terminate the deal of Nigeria international midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has been made known to the Spanish media.
Yesterday Huesca announced that the contract of the 23 year old which was suppose to run out this summer, which is few months away from now has been terminated with immediate effect.
It brings to an end a long drawn out saga with the club after he failed to return to training ten days after he was supposed to following Nigeria’s exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
We gathered an amicable solution led by the Spanish footballers union was on the card with Nwakali told to withdraw his case at Spain’s court for Labour over the manner he has been treated by the club.
Talks were progressing nicely but Nwakali made his dismissal easy and possible when he hosted a live video session on Instagram, and called the team all manners of names including threatening to ensure that they pay for making him cancel his big money contract with Arsenal.
During the session he claimed he cancelled two more years left on his Arsenal deal to make the move to Huesca possible only for them to treat him this way. He vowed to ensure that the club pay him for violating his rights.
Using the video from the session as evidence. The club took a decision to fire him for gross insubordination and misconduct following a review by their disciplinary committee.
