Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has taken a jab at controversial Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, after she was announced as the running mate to the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Rivers, Tonte Ibraye, for the 2023 general elections.

Following the announcement, the mother of one, in an interview, asserted that she is confident in her ability to succeed as Deputy Governor of Rivers State, as she has never failed in leadership.

According to her, although she had failed in some aspects of her life, she had never failed in leadership.

Actress, Tonto Dikeh

“I have failed in my life and I’m not denying that. Everyone has seen that. But am I going to fail with leadership? Have I failed in leadership? Start from motherhood, have I ever failed in motherhood, talk about my foundation. I think it was one of the foundations that stood up for this country, in the time of the pandemic, with no assistance whatsoever. I did even more than the government.” She said in part.

However, in an apparent response to Tonto Dikeh’s assertion that she has never failed in leadership, journalist Kemi Olunloyo has challenged her as being unqualified to serve in that capacity.

Netizens dig

Kemi Olunloyo recalled how the mother of one threatened her on social media a few weeks back after she interviewed her ex-lover, Kpokpogri, and declared that Tonto Dikeh can never be rebranded.

Taking to her verified Twitter handle, Kemi Olunloyo wrote,

“Tonto aspiring to be the deputy governor of Rivers State in 2023????Rivers state is NOT for sale or cruise. Just 60 days ago this woman threatened me as a journalist and came to Lagos to specifically beat me. @LagosPoliceNG warned her to STOP making threats. Definitely cannot lead”.
