The camp of the Nigeria U20 team preparing for the upcoming U20 Africa Cup of Nations will next week play host to scouts from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Head coach of the Nigeria U20 team Ladan Bosso has started the second and final phase of camping ahead of the tournament in Egypt, with as many as 35 players officially invited to be a part of the camp which is in Abuja.
Scouts from several teams usually watch the team’s training session and test games as they aim to spot the next big thing and make their move before they become known to the rest of the world, which might likely trigger a bidding war.
Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam are among the teams expected to be at the team’s training camp in Abuja next week, and we exclusively gathered that they will be running the rule on four players recommended to them from the team that won the WAFU B championship in Niger Republic.
Names of the players were not made known at the time of this report but it is believed that they are looking at two midfielders in the team and a full back. They are also beaming their searchlight on a forward player as well.
