Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has reinstated Mr. Eugene Eze Job as the Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.
This was disclosed in a terse release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barrister Chris Ezem and issued to thedabigal on Wednesday.
Recall that Abia State Government had banned the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW)-led by Eugene Job, which it viewed as threatening the peace of the state occasioned by the leadership tussle in the NURTW Abia Chapter.
However, according to the release, “the general public and all transport unions in Abia State should please take note”.
Meanwhile, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Tuesday, inspected the ongoing construction of Port Harcourt and Ngwa Roads projects in the commercial nerve centre (Aba) of the state.
Speaking during the inspection tour, Governor Ikpeazu expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on those critical roads in Aba.
The Governor reiterated the avowed commitment of his administration in making sure all sections of the state feel the impact of democratic governance irrespective of affiliations.
He encouraged the contractors handling the road projects for their untiring efforts in ensuring the state realizes the completion of the roads to ease movement of goods.
