Popular human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, and her husband, Aliu, are celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary this year.

Aisha, who rose to prominence during the End SARS protest in 2020, took to her Instagram page to share a throwback and recent picture of them and thanked Allah for keeping their marriage.

She captioned the post,

“I was 24 years 4 months and 5 days when I got married. Today I have been married for 24 years 4 months and 5 days.
Alhamdulillah for an amazing and beautiful relationship.
First picture taken on 17th April 1998 and second picture taken on 22nd August 2022.
I am still talking”

A while ago, Aisha Yesufu revealed a shocking detail about her marriage in an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin.

Aisha disclosed that she was the one who asked her husband out.

She said she made the first move in all her previous relationships and her husband was not an exception.

Her words,

“The way I met my husband is a long story. I was the one who asked him out. I arranged it so he can see me as a wife since he wasn’t seeing me as a wife. He would tell you I don’t behave like a wife, I behave like a girlfriend”.
