Former Ghanian international, Asamoah Gyan has lauded Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen for playing with ‘passion’ during Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Round of 16 clash against Cameroon on Saturday night.

Recall that Osimhen was on fire as Nigeria defeated Cameroon 2-0 at the AFCON.

The Napoli attacker gave an assist during the encounter as two goals from Ademola Lookman gave Jose Peseiro’s men the win over the Indomitable Lions.

Reacting after the game, Gyan whose country was eliminated from the AFCON in the group stage, wrote on his X account:

“Osimhen plays with passion,” Gyan said.

“That’s what every country wants their players to do.”

Osimhen will now hope to lead Nigeria to victory when they face Angola in the AFCON quarter-final on Friday.
