18 year old Norwich City rave of the moment Andrew Omobamidele will in the coming days make a decision on his international future with Nigeria battling Republic of Ireland for his service.

He has emerged as one of the names that has been associated with Norwich City’s almost accomplished mission of returning to the English Premier League as they are currently top of the Championship.

Although he represented Ireland at U21 level during the last international break, his representative confirmed that he will make a firm decision on his senior international future after contacts with an unnamed Nigeria football chief.

Omobamidele made his debut for Norwich City early this month owing to injuries to regular duo Ben Gibson and Christoph Zimmermann but he has made enough impression to catch the attention of both nations.

“ He is open to the idea of playing for Nigeria but Ireland is his best option for now. An official of the Nigerian Federation made an informal approach some times ago but we will come clear on his future next week”, his intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com.
