Arsenal 2-1 Bayern Munich. AUBA and Nketiah seal Gunners narrow win, Lewandowski on target

Arsenal and Bayern Munich kicked off the start of their preseason friendly with a competitive, oozing with quality on the pitch display with the game ending in a narrow 2-1 victory to the north londoners.

Arsenal took the lead after 49 minutes through an own goal, but a Lewandowski equaliser 22 minutes later left things all-square as we headed into the final 20 minutes.

Both sides had their opportunities, with Gnabry and Coman causing no end of trouble to the Arsenal full-backs, but Martinez was in fine form after replacing Leno, making a number of diving stops to keep the German champions from taking the lead.

Ultimately, it was the Premier League side who won the three points, after a corner was not cleared convincingly, allowing John-Jules to square it for Nketiah, who finished at the far post.

It may not have been a vintage performance by either side, but the preseason has just begun, with better displays surely on the way for both sides.
