Marcelo Bielsa believes it will be ‘precious to witness’ his Leeds United side take on Premier League rivals Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday.

After last season’s contest in West Yorkshire was played behind closed doors, Elland Road will be filled to the rafters this weekend, with Leeds supporters cheering on their team against the Red Devils for the first time in the top flight since 2003.

Speaking to the press ahead of Sunday’s battle, Bielsa believes the home crowd will create a memorable atmosphere to help drive his team towards a positive result.

“It’s not about what I would like, but it’s what the fans always give,” the Argentine said on Friday.

“They always support the team unconditionally. It’s difficult to imagine a support better or bigger than the one we have already received.

“The presence of a classic opponent increases the enthusiasm. It’s going to be precious to witness it.

“Of course, we think more about what we can give to the public than what we receive off them. The players in general imagine the type of game they’re going to come up against. A classic game is always a challenge, that’s very motivating.”

Leeds, who lost 5-1 against Man United in the reverse fixture back in August, could move nine points clear of the relegation zone if they were to claim maximum points this weekend.
