Coach of Napoli Gennaro Gattuso says he should be blamed for Victor Osimhen testing positive to coronavirus which has delayed his comeback by two more weeks.
Osimhen was supposed to return from a shoulder injury picked up in November while in action for Nigeria against Sierra Leone yesterday when Napoli played against Cagliari in the Serie A.
He however wasn’t available owing to the fact that he is self isolating despite his absence they ran out 4-1 winners to further brighten their chances of getting in the title fight in the Serie A.
Gattuso while reacting to blames on Osimhen who hosted a party in Nigeria with several people around with no mask or regards for social distance, the coach said all blames should be directed to him because he gave him permission to travel to Nigeria.
The coach refuse to confirm or deny reports of a fine on the record signing explaining that he has apologized for his actions to his teammates and staff of the team.
“He knows he was wrong, he apologised and now we are waiting for him. Will the club produce fines? I am a coach, I only decide the type of language I use with him. I gave him the authorisation to go to Nigeria, so I was wrong too”, the coach said.
