President Muhammadu Buhari sympathised with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and staff of the multilateral institution and agencies over the loss of revered demographer, administrator and development expert Dr Benson Morah.

In a statement on Saturday by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari commiserated with family, friends and professional associates of the population expert, who shared his knowledge and skills in Nigeria, Africa and other continents, heading many missions of the UN, and leading in strategy planning and implementation.

The President believes Dr Morah, a former Director of the UNFPA, started his work in Nigeria, stayed the course of human development, and selflessly served many nations with distinction.

The President prayed that the Almighty God would receive the departed’s soul and comfort his family.

Dr Morah, who hailed from Anambra State, died on March 31 at age 78.
