CAF Awards 2023: Demehin, Abiodun, Ajakaye up for Young Player award

Nigeria youngsters, Oluwatosin Demehin, Deborah Abiodun and Esther Ajakaye have been nominated for the 2023 CAF Women’s Young Player of the Year award.

The trio were recognised for their impressive performance for Nigeria’s U-20 side at the last edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Demehin and Abiodun have graduated to the Super Falcons.

The duo were part of the Super Falcons’ squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Demehin, a centre-back, played in all of Super Falcons’ four games in the competition.

Abiodun made one appearance in the competition.

The 2023 CAF Awards Gala will be held in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, November 11, 2023.
