The captain of the senior national team of France Hugo Lloris has picked a former Nigeria international defender as the most talented African player he ever played with.

Lloris made this known in a video posted by Supersport saying even though he has played with a lot of African players, the one who stood out was his then teammate at Nice Onyekachi Apam.

Their part crossed at the start of their careers but while Lloris developed into a world class goalkeeper and even won the world cup with France, injuries meant Apam’s career never reached the expected heights. He however left a lasting impression on the Tottenham Hotspur defender.

“I’ve played with many African players and it’s difficult to pick but I remember the one I first played with maybe you don’t know he is Onyekachi Apam. He’s a Nigerian and I played with him at Nice”, he said in the video.

” He was very talented. I remember the first game he played. It was against Marseille and he played at left back. After the game people keeps asking who is this player? Because they couldn’t beat him one on one. But unfortunately he had bad injuries and couldn’t follow with rhythm of the game. He was very talented”, he rounded up saying.
