Golf playboy John Daly is one of the sport’s most colourful figures thanks to his bright outfits and iconic blonde mullet and moustache.
The man nicknamed “Wild Thing” is a unique individual in the golf world, with his wild life including trashing hotel rooms, smoking 40 cigarettes a day and having four ex-wives. Daly burst onto the scene in the early 1990s after winning the USPGA Championship in 1991, having only appeared at the tournament as a last minute replacement.
Nick Price pulled out on the eve of the event after his wife went into labour, allowing Daly to replace him as the ninth and final alternate.
Since then, Daly’s exploits off the course have often taken attention away from his talent on the course, with the 56-year-old twice going to rehab for alcoholism.
His battle with booze resulted with Daly being taken into custody in 2008, with police releasing his mugshot after he passed out drunk at a Hooters in North Carolina. However, he was not arrested for the incident.
He has also previously estimated that he has lost over £50million gambling, according to the Daily Mail. The report also revealed that he smokes 40 Marlboros a day and drinks a dozen cans of diet coke.
Daly is regularly spotted doing both on the course at tournaments, easily picked out thanks to his iconic bright and colourful outfits along with his hair.

The California-native has also been married four times, first tying the knot to Dale Crafton in 1987. He was married to both Bettye Fulford and Paulette Dean during the 1990s before he wed Sherrie Miller in 2001.
In 2007, Daly played at a tournament with red cuts on his face and claimed that Miller had attacked him with a steak knife, the BBC reported at the time. The couple split that same year.
Daly is also the father to three children, including aspiring golfer John Daly II, who is currently a student at the University of Arkansas, the same college his dad attended.
