Chelsea are ready to pay £61 million for Real Madrid center-back Raphael Varane.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer of 2022 and – like many of their players – has been offered a reduced contract by Real due to the club’s financial situation.

Madrid are looking to sell a number of players this summer and with only a year left on his contract, may be forced to sell Varane rather than lose him for nothing further down the line.
Manchester United and PSG are long-time admirers of the France international but Mundo Deportivo claim Chelsea have moved ahead in the race, with Thomas Tuchel said to have specifically asked the club to target Varane.
