Chelsea vs West Brom: Tuchel confirms player to miss, start Premier League clash

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has confirmed the player who will miss and start his side’s Premier League tie against West Brom on Saturday afternoon.

Tuchel, midfielder, N’Golo Kante, will miss the West Brom clash at Stamford Bridge due to injury, while Timo Werner, who missed an open goal in Germany’s 2-1 World Cup qualifier defeat against North Macedonia earlier this week, will start for the Blues against the visitors.

The German said this during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Recall that Kante had returned to Chelsea early from international duty after picking up a minor hamstring injury.

“Everyone was training today, and we had a good, high-quality session,” Tuchel said.

“Apart from N’Golo Kante, he wasn’t with the squad, and he did some individual work.”

He added, “Timo will start tomorrow. ‘Yesterday I sent him in from training because he wanted to do extra finishing with us. But I sent him in because it will happen. The goals will come.

“Of course, he needs to do something, and the best thing to do is to work hard. Work hard against the ball, make runs, don’t hesitate, be fearless, don’t overthink it.

“That’s easy for me to say, but it’s the challenge right now for him. Timo will start tomorrow, and there we go.”

The kick-off time for the Chelsea vs West Brom match is 12.30 pm.
