Odion Ighalo’s bench role at Manchester United hasn’t gone down with his primary owners Shanghai Shenhua as they are currently struggling to score goals.
The club wanted the forward to return after his initial loan spell ended but Manchester United reached an agreement to extend the deal till February.
However he has gone from being a squad player to not getting into the matchday squad for almost all of the tournament they team is involved in at the moment.
That has left his Chinese side angry as they are struggling to fill the void created by his absence with their top striker Stephan El Shaarawy netting six goals in 14 games. The closest to him has just two goals this season.
“ They are not happy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in anyway. The other day a member of their management team was on Chinese TV and he had harsh words for the way the coach is treating Ighalo. He is a like a god here”, Michael Felix a Nigerian student in China told Owngoalnigeria.com.
“ The loan expires in two weeks time and they can’t wait to have him back as they are struggling to score goals. They believe he hasn’t been treated fairly”.
