The summer transfer window has picked up with players switching teams as preparation for the start of a new season draws near. Nigerian players have been actively involved with as many as ten already transferred.
More are expected to move next week and OwnGoalNigeria.com editor in chief Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman picks the deals that are likely to happen before the end of the window.
Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan) – As first reported by OGN, the deal to take him from Villarreal to the Italian giants is just a medical away with fees already agreed.
Victor Boniface (Bayern Leverkusen) – His move to the German side will be made official in the next 72 hours with Union Saint-Gilloise accepting a fee in the region of €20m for the player who joined them last summer from Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.
Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest) – A done deal that sealed his return to England after spending the last three years in Italy with Torino. He joins on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with the Italian side.
Maduka Okoye ( Udinese) – Very likely that an announcement will be made next week. Details of the deal is being finalized with both teams working out what will be the best option for him. Watford are keen to make the move permanent but Udinese want a season long loan deal. Ironically both teams are owned by the same entity.
Calvin Bassey (Fulham) – The only thing left is for the 23 year old to agree personal terms, something that is likely to happen in the next 48 hours to bring his nightmarish one season spell at Ajax to an end.
