Club World Cup: Haaland, De Bruyne ruled out of Man City’s games

Manchester City will be without the influential duo of Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne for the Club World Cup.

According to Goal, Haaland’s foot injury has ruled him out of the tournament.

The Norway striker had travelled to Saudi Arabia with the rest of the squad, but has been removed from City’s squad list for the tournament.

Pep Guardiola’s men play the semi-final on Tuesday and if they win, there will be a potential final against Fluminense on Friday.

De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku were also scratched from the list, dashing hopes that City’s Belgian midfielder could make his comeback this week.

City fans will be concerned that Haaland’s injury continues to be an issue. Initially ruled out on the morning of City’s trip to Luton, Haaland was understandably absent from a Champions League trip to Belgrade but was once again left out for last weekend’s slip-up against Crystal Palace.
