The people of Enenurhie and Enhwe communities have urged the Delta State government to urgently repair the collapsed Enenurhie-Enhwe bridge, which connects the area to Ughelli, Bayelsa, and Port-Harcourt in Rivers State.

thedabigal visited the scene and found an unmotorable road.

President-General of Enenurhie Community, Peter Manson, who said “this damage is beyond community effort,” appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to come to their aid and help repair the bridge.

A motorist, Keno Omofezi, who was on his way from Igbide to Oleh, lamented the ugly state of the bridge.

“It is indeed painful to think about the situation we found ourselves in. As you can see, the damage is huge, colossal, and terrible. We kindly call on our governor to come and help us out of the ditch we suddenly found ourselves in,” he said.

Omofezi stressed that the bridge is important as it connects Isoko communities to the popular East-West Road.

“So, we cannot afford to stay without it,” he said.

Another passerby, Anthony Okpiyalele, who also spoke with thedabigal, suggested a short-term action, saying that the state government should fix the damaged bridge first and then work on a long-term plan for a new, longer bridge as a lasting solution to the problem.
