A video which went viral on social media captures a white man shouting racial slurs at his Black neighbors.
The man identified as Mathews repeatedly called his neighbor the N-word and a “monkey” outside his home in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
According to authorities, the confrontation captured on video happened after Mathews knocked on the door of a neighbor’s house demanding to see the husband, who is Black. The neighbour’s wife, who is white, called police.
In the clip, he can be heard stating his address several times before walking.
“Come f—— see me,” Mathews said in the video.
Mathews’ challenge prompted dozens of New Jersey residents to gather outside his house as police officers showed up to protect him.
Police arrested him after the video posted online showed him using racist slurs against his Black neighbors.
