Crystal Palace rising star Michael Olise has deleted a post he made on Twitter celebrating Algeria’s late win over Nigeria in the semi final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Olise is wanted by both Nigeria and Algeria with Nigeria calling him up last year March but he didn’t honour the invitation which was sent by former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr.
He had a chat with interim head coach of the Nigerian team Austine Eguavoen but didn’t commit to Nigeria requesting for time to make up his mind. He has however accepted a call up to the U21 team of France.
His decision to accept a call up to France U21 is coming three years after he played for their U19. He also reportedly had talks with England manager Gareth Southgate but decided to continue his international career with France.
In 2019, the 20 year old while still at English Championship side Reading celebrated Algeria’s win over Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations semi finals with a post on Twitter saying “Finals here we come”. He has however deleted the original tweet.
