Nigerian singer and multiple award winner, Davido, bares his mind on why many children of the rich go broke without having money.
Davido who belongs to the Adeleke family said that most rich kids don’t feel the need to work hard because the wealth of their parents are transferred to them without stress.
The Adeleke family are one of the most influential and wealthy families in Nigeria, but Davido said he saw the need for him to work hard to become the household name he is today.
The singer made this remark in a new interview where he revealed he was really broke at a point in his life.
However, he was able to reach the top and earn his name through hard work and not because of his father’s influence which many believe.
The father of three admitted that his dad has been very supportive as well. The pop star also recounted that his mum died when he was just 11 years old and by then, he knew what he needed to do.
Davido said the cycle in his family was to go to school, graduate and work for his father but he had to push to become the singer he is, thus defying all odds.
