Delta: Police arrest motorcyclist with ammunition concealed in bag of garri

A Police patrol team from Bomadi Division on routine stop-and-search duty has arrested a 37-year-old cyclist, Solomon Ebe, with 340 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition concealed in a bag of garri along Bomadi/ Tuomo road in Delta State.

The suspect was arrested based on reasonable suspicion after they flagged him down.

The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

The Police image maker said, “The operatives who were discrete in their responsibilities on reasonable suspicion decided to search the suspect and the bag.

“Upon search, 340 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition hidden inside the garri were recovered.”

While noting that the suspect was arrested, DSP Edafe said, “investigation is ongoing.”
