The Southwest Zonal Vice President of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Comrade Ade-Peters Olusegun has urged members of the group across the zone not to relent in their struggle for financial autonomy for the legislature arm of government.

Comrade Olusegun made this known on Friday while addressing the press on his visit to the Osun House of Assembly in Osogbo.

He said the strike was necessary because of what the association is demanding, which is for financial autonomy in all the State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.

He advised his members across the Southwest states not to take laws into their hands rather allow the laws to be effective.

He said, “If there is no legislature, there is no democracy in any land. For us to defend democracy, there must be a defence for the legislature”.

He urged the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) to allow laws to do justice in financial autonomy for Houses of Assembly across the states.

Comrade Olusegun confirmed that there is no going back on legislature autonomy while noting that the association has laid its hands on the plough and can not leave it.

He advised legislative workers to go about the strike with caution and endure the situation.
