END OF AN ERA AS DAVID SILVA CONFIRMS HIS IMPENDING CITY EXIT

Spanish international and a Manchester city diminutive midfielder David Silva has confirmed he still plans to leave Manchester City at the end of this season.

The veteran playmaker was expected to call it a day this summer after a decade of service but the disruption to football caused by the coronavirus pandemic has made for an unprecedented end to this campaign.

However, Silva’s comments suggest that he will not be at the club when the 2020/21 season kicks off.

When I say one thing, I move forward. I am sorry, I have been here ten years and I have fulfilled what I wanted,” he told AS.

“The cycle closes here, but I will always keep this club in mind for everything I have lived. From the first moment people have treated me incredible. Here they have a great respect for you, people give admiration towards you. Now my family and I need another challenge.”

His time at the club has coincided with undoubtedly the clubs most successful era with the Manchester club winning 4 English premier league titles, Fa cups since his arrival and wresting bragging rights from neighbors Manchester United as the best team in Manchester and his exit would definitely leave a big space to be filled in the City dressing room.

The youthful Englishman Phil Foden is in line to take over Silva’s role in the squad as his progression continues, while City are still planning to give the club great a fitting send-off when possible.
