EPL: Boehly’s Chelsea to sign Brazilian attacker

Chelsea, under the leadership of co-owner Todd Boehly, is determined to get their hands on Brazilian attacker Raphinha, but they are not quite ready to meet Barcelona’s asking price, paving the way for intense negotiations.

Chelsea sees the opportunity to snatch up Raphinha to revitalize their squad after a disastrous 2022/23 season.

With Barcelona’s failed gamble and Chelsea’s keen interest, the stage is set for a fascinating summer transfer battle.

Raphinha’s move to Barcelona from Leeds United was a risky endeavour as the Blaugrana shelled out a whopping €58 million for his services.

Expectations soared for the winger but he has been unable to make a consistent impact, despite respectable stats of nine goals and nine assists.

According to El Nacional, Boehly is ready to make room for Raphinha in their next project but they are unwilling to match Barcelona’s original investment.

The West London club are eager to sit down at the negotiating table and strike out a deal that suits both parties.

Although Raphinha started well at Barcelona, his performances have dwindled and he’s been overshadowed by the preferred choice of Ousmane Dembele in crucial games.
