EPL: Chelsea reveals role Potter has agreed to play for club

Chelsea’s freshly axed manager Graham Potter has agreed to work with the club for a smooth transition to a new management.

The Englishman was sacked as manager on Sunday.

Concerns were high on Saturday after the Blues fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa.

The result left the west London side 11th place in the table and proved to be Potter’s final match in charge.

A statement by the club said that Bruno Saltor will take charge of the team as interim head coach with Chelsea’s next outing seeing them entertain Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Chelsea’s statement hinted that Potter could play a role in deciding who his permanent successor will be.

“Graham has agreed to collaborate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition,” the statement said.

“In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter-final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid.”
