Leeds United legend Jermaine Beckford was impressed with Taiwo Awoniyi’s performance in Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Saturday.
Awoniyi was on target twice in the four-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigeria international gave Chelsea’s experienced centre-back Thiago Silva a tough time in the game.
The 25-year-old has earned plaudits for his impressive display against the Blues, and Beckford has joined the list of his admirers.
“He (Awoniyi) was fantastic as well; he was such a thorn in the Chelsea defence all afternoon, causing all sorts of problems with his size, with his aerial ability, and he managed to get himself on the score sheet as well,” Beckford said on Premier League productions.
The forward has eight goals and one assist in 25 league outings for Forest this season.
