EPL: Peter Crouch names player that’ll help Chelsea to win title

Former Liverpool striker, Peter Crouch, has insisted that Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, is ‘the final missing piece’ in the Blues’ squad that will help them win the Premier League title.

Crouch said this while reacting to Mendy’s man-of-the-match display during Chelsea’s Premier League 1-0 win over Brentford at the weekend.

Mendy produced a scintillating performance and made a number of incredible saves to help Thomas Tuchel’s side claim all three points against Brentford.

“Thomas Frank [Brentford manager] had it right after Chelsea somehow beat Brentford on Saturday night, when saying his team would have won that game nine times out of 10,” Crouch told the Daily Mail.

“The reason they didn’t? Edouard Mendy. Mendy underlines the importance of a goalkeeper to a title-winning side.

“He is the final, missing piece that could get them [Chelsea] over the lines this season.”
