EPL: Rio Ferdinand predicts Frank Lampard’s reaction to Everton’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has explained what former Everton manager Frank Lampard will have been thinking as his former club defeated Premier League leaders Arsenal 1-0 in their first game since the Toffees sacked him.

Everton appointed Sean Dyche as Lampard’s successor after sacking the Chelsea legend last month.

During Saturday’s Premier League tie against Arsenal, James Tarkowski scored the only goal of the game at Goodison Park to take Dyche’s side out of the relegation zone.

However, Ferdinand claimed that Lampard would be questioning where the improved performance was when he was in charge of Everton.

He told BT Sports: “Frank Lampard, I am sure, will be sitting at home wondering ‘Where was this when I was here?’ in the last few weeks of his tenure?”

He added, “You have got to give Sean Dyche and his coaching staff credit. These fans, the atmosphere they have created here was phenomenal today, and the players had to really start that with the performance – the high intensity, the pressing, the aggression.”
