EPL: That’s only thing I care about – Kompany responds to becoming Chelsea manager

Manchester City legend and Burnley boss, Vincent Kompany has responded to claims that he is Chelsea’s target for a permanent manager at Stamford Bridge.

Reports in England earlier this week said that Kompany, 37, is now in the running for the hot seat at Stamford Bridge after he guided Burnley to the Premier League.

The Blues are also seriously considering hiring the likes of Tottenham ex-boss, Mauricio Pochettino while their interest in Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique is going cold.

Todd Boehly and co are expected to announce their new permanent boss before the end of the season,

Burnley are yet to win the championship after taking just two points from their last three games and losing to relegation-battlers, QPR on Saturday.

After their defeat on Saturday, Kompany, a former Belgium international, was asked about the speculation linking him with Chelsea, he said “I’ve said I’m not engaging in any of these conversations.

“I have too much at this moment in time in my head in terms of wanting to win football matches. That’s the only thing I care about.”
