Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has called out the club’s ex-Executive-Vice Chairman, Ed Woodward, on social media.

According to Ferdinand, Man United fans deserve answers from Woodward, who decided to step down as the Red Devils Executive Vice-Chairman amid the club’s withdrawal from the European Super League.

Recall that Man United and other Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, confirmed their intention to pull out of the breakaway competition on Tuesday night.

“I commend the Chelsea fans that went to Chelsea and were going bananas. I was thinking that I would love to see more people doing that because these people need to understand,” Ferdinand posted on Twitter on Wednesday alongside a short video.

“But you can’t just come out and give us a little blanket cover-up story and not tell us why. Ed Woodward has resigned; I want to know why. Where are you, Ed? I know you personally, I want to know why. Were you part of this? They are the questions.

“I could sit here and hammer Ed Woodward, I could sit here and hammer the Glazers, I could sit here and hammer the owners of all these football clubs.

“I don’t want to waste my time doing that now, I just want answers. They should be put up on a pedestal like they wanted to be as the six clubs, the six great big clubs. They were on that pedestal, putting themselves up there.

“Well come out now and answer some questions on their pedestals because that’s what the fans deserve.”
