Everton showing genuine interest in 102-goal striker

Everton are reportedly among the Premier League sides with a genuine interest in signing a former Premier League striker, as Sean Dyche looks to bring in two new frontmen this summer.

The Toffees are currently closing in on a deal for Sporting Lisbon forward Youssef Chermiti, but it appears that Dyche is not content with getting only one new forward on board at Goodison Park.

With Ellis Simms already moving on and Neal Maupay also surplus to requirements, the Everton chief wants an all-new attack to bolster a frontline that really struggled for goals last season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to have issues with stringing a number of games together before injury strikes, leaving Dyche to search for alternative options.

And, along with Chermiti, Football Insider reports that Southampton star Che Adams is also a top target for the Merseysiders.

The 27-year-old only has one year remaining on his current contract and is hoping for an immediate return to the Premier League after Saints were relegated last term.

Football Insider adds that the St Mary’s side are open to the idea of Adams moving on, but only if they receive a suitable fee.

Adams, who currently earns around £30,000-a-week at St Mary’s after signing from Birmingham for £15m in 2019, is also a target for Bournemouth and Wolves.
