20 year old Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare has joined French second division side Amiens from Latvian side Valmeira.
Arokodare made a shock transfer in September last year to German Bundesliga side Cologne after scoring 16 goals in 15 games in the Latvian top division.
The loan move gave the German side the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the loan for a fee of €3 million but they opted against signing him permanently after he failed to score in ten league games.
For now details of his deal to Amiens still remains sketchy as there is no clear statement if it’s a loan deal or a permanent transfer. The duration of his contract with Valmeira means any potential permanent deal will include a further sale clause.
A 15% sell on clause was contained in the loan agreement to Cologne if they had signed him permanently. Something similar might be the case if it’s a permanent deal with the Ligue 2 side. He will defend the colors of the team in the number 9 jersey.
