Former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Sunday Oliseh has once again spoken about his time as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria.

The former captain of the team was appointed as coach of the team in 2015 and took charge of 14 international games but resigned the following year after a row with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

During his time as coach the team suffered just two losses and scored a total of 19 goals conceding just six in the process. He is also instrumental to the introduction of the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi into the team.

Speaking on his tenure, the coach who later handled Dutch side Fortuna Sittard after his job with the senior national team of Nigeria said he laid the foundation for the current team.

“ My philosophy was to get young talented players that we will could mould and build into a modern playing style and in 14 games for the national team we lost only twice. But then everything started going wrong”, he said in an interview with international media outlet DW.
