The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has secured another friendly game for the senior national team of Nigeria as part of their preparations for the start of the World Cup qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Already they will take on Saudi Arabia in Portugal on the 13th of October, which is the next international break before the start of the world cup qualifiers in November. Another game with Mozambique has been scheduled three days after.

The venue for the second game against Mozambique is yet to be confirmed, but sources say it will likely be in Portugal due to FIFA’s requirements on friendly games not to be played across certain distances.

Both games will offer the Jose Peseiro led technical crew the chance to assess the players further and probably try out new formation and tactics before taking on Lesotho in Uyo, in their first game of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

An announcement from both Federations will be made public once a venue for the game is agreed between both parties.
