Ahead of the recently announced July 4th friendly game between Nigeria and Mexico coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr has drawn up a list of 23 players for the game in Los Angeles.
Owngoalnigeria.com was the first outlet to report that the game will be prosecuted by largely players from the Nigeria Professional Football League as the foreign based players will at that time be involved in pre season games with their respective teams.
Rohr has also move to forestall a situation where he will be left with few options in the event that some of the players fail to get a visa to the United State of America for the game.
He has penned down eight Nigerian players picked from Major League Soccer (MLS) teams with a view of trimming it down to five with the rest of the players for the game picked from the NPFL.
However the number of players in the MLS could be higher than the proposed five if more players invited from the MLS fail to secure entry visa into the US for the game.
Sources close to the coach revealed the names of the MLS players Rohr is considering for the game but veterans like Jalil Anibaba who now plays in the USL for Nashville SC is also under consideration.
