The senior national team of Nigeria were beaten 0-2 by Guinea in their last international friendly game ahead of the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Nigeria used the game to tune up for their first game of the tournament which is on the 14th of January against Equatorial Guinea. A day after the host will play the opening game against Guinea Bissau.
A member of the team gave us the five players whom he think didn’t do their chances of making the starting lineup for the opening game any good during the course of the game.
” I think the entire back three (William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem) should be ashamed of themselves. They were they were beaten for both goals isn’t what is expected from players of their level and exposure”, it is unacceptable.
” Further up the pitch Raphael Onyedika didn’t help his case. Playing in a midfield two with Alhassan Yusuf he was supposed to be the senior player in the set up but he didn’t come to the party. Then there was Zaidu Sanusi, who didn’t understand properly what is role was as a wingback. It was just an eye sore from a defensive point of view”, he rounded up saying.
